Before anyone makes the obvious comparison to Senator Joe McCarthy, I would like to note that I consider it unfair – to McCarthy. McCarthy was competent evil, he actually ruined lives. :eek: No, Bachmann is best compared to McCarthy’s fictitious colleague, his incompetent and buffoonish doppelganger, the poor-man’s McCarthy: the puppet-licious Senator Iselin from _Manchurian Candidate_. “There are 57 [del]Communists[/del] Islamists in the State Department.” :rolleyes: ---

I didn’t notice it as much with Clark but I remember when Tinklenburg ran, my college campus was absolutely plastered with signs supporting him and then you’d cross the street and it was Bachmann territory as far as the eye could see. ---

This is a clear sign of insanity. A rational person, even convinced they were right, would understand the sign of the times, that they were being rebuked by senior members of their own party on the floor of the Senate, and take a step back from the edge. Not Crazy Eyes. No, she ratchets up the claims and screams that she will not be silenced. I mean really, Huma worked for the State Department and is the wife of a former congressman. She’s been pretty solidly vetted. I honestly think they should remove Bachmann from the Intelligence Committee and give her a formal rebuke in the House. ---

Why in the world doesn’t some other Republican run against her for her seat? Just because she’s the incumbent ® is there no other way to get rid of her besides voting for the Dem candidate which the people in her district seem to refuse to do? ---

I generally have a positive opinion about Minnesota. I’m having a tough time reconciling that with the Queen of Batshit continuing to get re-elected.
