So I met this woman a couple of weeks ago. We’ve been out a few times, and I’ve found her to be beautiful, fun, smart, sexy, beautiful, compassionate, beautiful, well-educated, beautiful, spiritual, funny, warm, and beautiful. There is some slight possibility that she may, someday, talk me into liking her a little. She won’t introduce me to her kids yet (and I’m good with that!), but she’s told them about me. Her daughter is usually very interested in her mom’s love life, but her son never is. He just doesn’t care. And that’s OK, because his mom tends to date guys that don’t even want to try to get along with her kids. But he’s been asking about me. He’s been asking about me A LOT. I play guitar. The ex-husband plays guitar. In fact, we attended the same music school, and possibly at the same time. The son wants to go there someday. He plays guitar as well. As it turns out, I have a lot in common with this kid. And he knows it. Last Wednesday, I did the mom a favor by accompanying her to Guitar Center to help pick out a new instrument for the kid’s birthday. She wants to buy him a Strat. (Did I mention that she’s the coolest mom ever? Did I mention that she’s awesome?) She repaid my kindness by buying me dinner and giving me a warm wet kiss that lasted about an hour. Hey, I’m only too happy to help out. It’s all about the music, dude. Musical philanthropy is my bag, baby. So the plan is for mom, dad, and son to go back to the store and actually choose and pay for a guitar. Said the son: “I don’t want dad to go with us. I want tdn to go with us.” Aww. 🙂 ---

It’s very promising. What makes it even better is that her kids approve of me and her parents want to meet me. All this after only three dates. ---

Wow! Way to go! My friends’ kids are growing and becoming cool people as well. I saw them on the weekend; it was a birthday party with four generations in one house. Having cool adults in your life who play guitar and buy you Stratocasters. I just have to say that this is so far removed from my experience as a kid during the Generation Gap that it’s almost surreal. ---

Yeah, I was going to say that my parents were never that cool. Thet never bought me a guitar. Then I remembered that they bought me four of them. Never a Strat, though. I’m really happy that the woman likes me. I’m really happy that the kids want to meet me. But the dog?
