The Crack Monster/Crack Master Mystery

Yeah, I know, but unfortunately there are no others cited as the creator by any sources (rumour or otherwise). I’m thinking of letting the petition grow a little bigger then sending a copy of it to Sesame Workshop…

Here’s a link to an audio commentary Jon (someone who obtained a copy of the thing) made, circa 2009

His narration closely resembles the original. I suspect he recorded the former while listening to the latter.

Another Wiki with some info.

The documentary the Wiki discusses may unleash some horrific repressed memories in the Gen-X cohort. Exciting! FREE THE CRACK MONSTER!!!

Someone should print up T-shirts.

I DO remember this. I saw it at least once when I was five or six, and it was vivid enough that I remembered images from it. I don’t remember if I was scared or not–unsettled is probably the better word.

I don’t get why the owner/creator/whoever is in possession of this is so adamant about not releasing it.

As some of you may already know, it’s been uploaded to You-Tube:

Wow, thank goodness for vanity searches. I just saw the short for the first time since, well, 1979.

Just so everyone knows, you can download an uncompressed version as a 23 MB .mov file through a link at the bottom of this Lost Media Wiki page.

yaaaaaasss

Thanks for bumping this thread. That video must have made no impression at all on me because I haven’t thought about it since who the hell knows how long ago when I saw it airing. But I easily recognized it when I saw it, and it is interesting to see something that you’ve forgotten that you’ve forgotten.
