ok in two parts because they seem to be contradictory.  
The correct role PM:

You are Reverend Dimmesdale. Right now, you are acting pure, and technically, you are. But you want to be with the other sinners. You can do that if you become infected. And when you turn, investigators will still think you’re pure.
