The Cruelest and Saddest Deaths In Movies/Music?

I don’t get wrapped up in celebrity lives enough to say any affected me on a personal level, but when Alan Rickman died I remember thinking, “well…fuck.”

Based on thread title, I was expecting deaths in movies.

Brandon Tenold’s “Top 10 Ray Harryhausen Films” – FF to 11:27 mark.

As for celebrity deaths – who was that musician who was trying to quit drugs and booze, and (against her doctor’s advice) tried going cold turkey, and died of alcohol withdrawal?

Moral: Listen to your doctor.

Amy Winehouse?

No, she died with booze in the room.

[http://https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/selena]Selena.](Selena - Wikipedia) She already had a devoted following in La Frontera, she was about to become nationally known, and one crazy bitch put an end to that. (It did give Jennifer Lopez’s career a boost to play her in the movie, but she had plenty of other opportunities, and I would prefer that a movie didn’t have to be made until years later.)

Randy Rhoads planned to finish out the tour with Ozzy, then attend music academy and learn classical guitar. He could have changed the face of popular music.

River Phoenix. We were born the same year, almost the same month. Speaking of career boosts, I know I’m not the only one who wonders how DiCaprio’s career arc would have gone if River hadn’t died.

(Side note about Heath Ledger: A few years ago, I was in another forum discussing celebrity deaths, and one clown kept insisting that whichever one of the Olsen twins sublet the apartment Ledger died in, to him, “must have had something to do with it.” Numerous posts countering, “He didn’t get the medications from her; he got them from a shady doctor. She wasn’t even in NYC when it happened! Would you say this if the lease-holder wasn’t famous?” and so forth did nothing to dissuade hir.)

Christina Grimmie, shot by a fan.

Aaliyah, died in a 'plane crash.

Jill Dando, shot on her doorstep.

Naturally, the one I intended to add, I have completely forgotten. Happens all the time, will have to revisit later. :frowning:

And another thread reminded me - Brian Jones.

Those two hit me the hardest, especially Cornell. Prince also was rather shocking.
