So, I’m kind of disappointed that the owl was only a stone carving with moss all over it. I was really hoping for something more. I mean, if you are going to have 12 meter tall owls (glad we cleared that up, I was wondering myself if we were talking height, width, wing span or owl cock size…the latter being REALLY freaking scary), I would expect, I don’t know, 1 meter tall mice to go along with it (I mean, you got to feed those suckers something, amIrightorwhathuh?). ---

Before the Bohemian Grove became a magnet for conspiracy theorists, there is no mention, anywhere, either in church records, the writings of self-described occultists, or the observations of either group by disinterested third parties, that called the owl a symbol of Moloch. This board leans pretty atheistic and skeptic, so any idea that suggests that there might be supernatural forces at work in the world is going to get a lot of pushback here. But your ideas fail _even if one accepts the existence of the supernatural_, because your ideas are all hackneyed cliches whose origins can be traced pretty easily to entirely secular sources. You aren’t bringing up genuine mysteries that nobody can adequately explain. You are, almost without exception, bringing up ideas that can be definitively tracked down to sources that were unabashedly presenting them as original works of fiction. ---

I have a theory that Satan creates Conspiracy Theories to confuse the Faithful and cause them to waste time and effort chasing fantasies instead of doing God’s work on Earth. This has the side effect of making the Faithful look silly or stupid to those whose faith is dormant or wavering. My only experience with Brazil was a short time in Rio, and I can say that the injunction to “clothe the naked” is sadly neglected there.
