I was thinking of **[Kansas City International Airport - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kansas_City_International_Airport)** which is pretty darn near the geographical center of the lower 48 & about as far from a US perimeter border as one can get. It’s also actually located in Missouri, about 6 miles from the river border with Kansas. Something I surely should have remembered. ---

I am pretty sure the “international airport creates a 100-mile border patrol bubble” thing is a misconception. I seem to recall reading a discussion of it on these boards, but search is defeating me. Even so, just considering the geographical edges of the country, something like 70% of the population still lives within border patrol’s operational jurisdiction. ---

We know from his first administration that Trump is jonesing to use nukes on someone, and was talked out of it then. It no longer seems impossible that he would actually go ahead and order it, and have his order carried out. ---
