OldOlds said Israel is “always” skipped. Maybe it is usually skipped — I challenged the always. Israel did get a free trade agreement. It remains to be seen if Trump will follow it on the bigger exports. As to why Israeli diplomats are trying to reverse the new small tariff, that’s their job. If they don’t have a higher value issue at the moment, they’ll go with the one they have. I suppose K Street business lobbyists are the same way with their clients. If they can’t help an industry with a big issue, they’ll go after a little one. ---

Re last post, do you mean, tariffs, allowed under the free trade agreement, on Israeli imports to the U.S., that pre-date Trump 47? This would be off topic and is not important enough to open a new thread. ---

Prediction: By 2027, the Museum of African American History has become The Smithsonian Museum of the American South, brought to you by Coca-Cola. Admission $24.99. The is still a large section on Black history, but it’s mostly about the moments when white people did something nice for them, and sports and entertainment. ---
