He’s demanding unconditional surrender; you don’t get that without leveling the country in the process. Especially since the leadership knows we’ll kill them like we killed Saddam. ---

Gaddafi didn’t fare so well, either. The US has nothing directly to do with it, but did help topple the regime, and the rest was almost inevitable. ---

Washington State makes clergy mandatory reporters of child abuse [with no exception for the seal of the confessional.](https://www.thecentersquare.com/washington/article_c7da9641-0494-40ff-9414-5c8fa589547c.html) No surprise, the Catholic Church won’t go along with that. Trump’s Department of ~~Pandering to the Base~~ Justice intervenes on behalf of the Church, as if it can’t hire its own lawyers to try a case with hundreds of years of successful precedent. I saw a story recently about an incarcerated Rastafarian suing after his dreads were shaved by prison authorities, a violation of his religious practice. No DOJ lawsuit for him. ---

I’ve seen many t-shirts, posters, etc w a pic of trump’s triumphant smirking mug pasted in front of the White House w the tagline “Daddy’s home!”. So apparently a resonating idea with the deplorable set. I find it nauseating, but I find nearly everything associated w him to be nauseating. ---

As I recall it was a NATO guy suggesting that the fight between Israel and Iran was akin to children squabbling and the US was playing the role of “daddy” breaking it up. I don’t think he meant Trump. Good God, I hope he didn’t mean Trump. ---

The Daddy meme is months old. Not started by the current Iran/Israel war. “Daddy” is also a standard term submissive women use to describe their dominating / domineering man. “Daddy, please spank me! I’ve been a bad girl.” “Daddy’s little [redacted]”. See a lot of t-shirts like that if you visit the right (AKA wrong) kinds of websites. I think the whole trump phenomenon is a weird twisted take on dominance and submission. The natural born followers _want_ to put a domineering sort in charge and then roll over and play submissive before him. All while claiming they’re rugged tough self-sufficient individualists. It’s a psychodrama all the way through.
