Me? No. I’m trying to remember what I played: hide-and-go-seek, marbles, soccer, baseball… I can’t recall ever playing Army or Cops and Robbers. Did you ever “play doctor” as a kid? ---

But this wasn’t play, and it wasn’t creative for the kids. It was staged, and the lines and actions were are scripted. Not quite the same things. ---

I guess at some point, it would be disturbing. I think partly I find it cute because Scarface is so over the top and cartoonish. And plus it’s the effect of adorable kid using bad words (well, “Bee” for bitch and “Fudge” for “Fuck”). Kind of like, from the mouths of babes! Or the Sarah Silverman effect. I mean, if kids were enacting Schindler’s List, or the Accused that would probably be creepy. But I can’t help not taking Scarface all that seriously. Yes, I know there are some pretty violent parts of it, but in other parts it’s just SO ludicrous. “Say hello to my leetle friend,” and the disco, and the tacky clothes. It’s camp. Like, if I saw kids enacting Mommy Dearest, I wouldn’t be all that appalled even though technically it’s a movie about child abuse. I don’t think anyone really thinks of it that way–it’s more of a ludicrous cheese fest. I guess the difference for me comes with the seriousness of the film. ---

The play is comprised of professional actors and was staged purely for a viral video for youtube. This is not some elementary school teacher’s wet dream. ---

I don’t see why you can’t be disgusted at the parents for letting the kids do this, but still think the way they pulled it off was cute. The people who faked this video did a good job. Then again, I’ve always thought that most movies with gore or whatever were overly cartoony. I even was disappointed by _The Passion of the Christ_. When I see stuff like this, I always latch in on the parts that look fake, and never get over that. And you can’t get any faker than this play. ---

For someone to actually place children in acting roles, especially for this particular movie, I think is weird. You have to have some warped mind to pull it off. Well done, but weird nonetheless. ---
