Different schools and colleges have spring break at different times – the vacation may fall anywhere from February (actually still winter) to April. So it’s certainly a popular observance, but not such a specific holiday as Memorial Day, July 4, or Labor Day are.

Spring break is more like a season than a holiday. I’d contend that Labor Day is the number one beach holiday here, following by July 4th. I guess I live way too close to the beach to do well at this.

When we go to the beach we NEVER get ice cream, because there is a famous little ice cream shack that we always stop at on the way back from the beach.

We also hardly ever get jellyfish here, but seagulls, especially when being fed by tourists, are very annoying.

Dogs are generally not allowed at the beach here (dogshit is not good for the ambiance), so I was really surprised by that one.
