If so the question might overestimate the chess knowledge of a whole lot of people, huh?
Correct.
I’ve decided that if you were specific, that’s how it gets counted.
King’s pawn up two spaces.
Queen’s pawn up two spaces.
Pawn up two spaces.
Knight to bishop 3.
Those are the answers (through astorian.) Plus a multitude of passes.
The mods can’t change thread titles right now, so try all threads. Ya never know! This has been a particularly chatty Feud, too.

- Twister
- Candlestick
- Wishbone
- Scissors
- Move the king pawn forward 2 spaces (I don’t remember the notation)
For #6 (I know my answer is dumb, but its the only thing I could think of that made sense):
What is ‘horseshoes’? I’m guessing this is something that just didn’t make it across the Atlantic, because I have never heard of it!
I’m sorry, you’re too late for this game! We cut off at 50.
Horseshoes is a game where you toss an actual metal horseshoe at a small post stuck in the ground. You get points for being closest to the post, or getting a “ringer” or a “leaner.”
Um… the game started over your way, not here.
Anyway, drunk people pound a pair of stakes into the ground, then throw horseshoes at them. If you get close enough to the stake, you earn points. See here for particulars.

Darnit! Too late! And I might have done OK with this one, too. Next time, I guess.
And the winner is ~drumroll~ 42fish!!! Way to go! ::flings confetti:: 42fish got 8/10 right, and perfect score was 532. I finally got into the top ten again!
Thanks all, and thanks tdn!
Next one later tonight. We are so lucky to have power and AC. The poor people across the street don’t have power, and we’re having an impromptu block party. Grilling up some chicken, sausage and ribs, and I made potato salad, baked beans and cornbread.
Later!

I’m not in the basement! Woohoo!
Thanks again, Dolores, and tdn.
Ok, I’m not last… but I’m back where I belong.
And that Block Party sounds really tasty!
Damn. My first thought on nonstandard deck was Uno, then I figured you meant screwing with a standard deck so I changed it to pinochle.
Hey, fifth place! Woo-hoo! I’d been doing pretty well, but for the last few games have been languishing in the thirties, or lower even!
- candy land
- pinochle
- full house
- taboo
- boardwalk
- croquet
- rope
- water on teh knee
- paper
- pawn forward two spaces
ETA: never mind- saw the cry for one more and gave it a try! Fun one!
3rd place!?!! Are we scoring inversely on this one? I’m not used to this.
- Candyland
- Magic the Gathering
- Full house
- Charades
- Boardwalk
- Frisbee
- lead pipe
- funny bone
- scissors
- king’s pawn to K4
eta rats, too late. But I would have had 6 of the top answers, so again I would have been near the middle. Oh well.
