- I assume this is the occupation we’d least like to do, not an occupation whose members we hate. I have nothing against garbagemen. I just think they do a job that I would hate to do myself.
- Don’t know why, the guy really irks me.
- Don’t really have one. going for points.
- Not a current trend, but a dumb one. probably won’t get me many points.
- Again, don’t really hate any chain stores that come to mind. Going for points. I love Walmart, myself.
wow, good thing I didn’t get in in time. Would’ve done horribly.
Even before the Steinbrenner era, however, the Bronx Bombers were often resented just because they seemed to win the World Series every year. Indeed, from 1947 to 1964, the Yanks were the American League champions fifteen out of a possible eighteen times. When you consider that there were only eight teams in each league for most of that time, and no League Championship Series (let alone wild-card playoff teams), it adds up to fans in most AL cities resigning themselves to hoping “their boys” could at least finish second in the standings, since first was essentially out of the question.
Thanks, Rebo.
I guess I’ve always thought of a beehive as an extreme bouffant. That’s part of what I think is funny about Marge Simpson.
I loved my Mama and my Nanny, but I hated that (bouffant) hairstyle* when I was a kid. All that trouble for that?!! I remember all kinds of jokes and stories about spiders and mice and bird’s nests.
I do see the difference, though. I guess you’re never too old to learn something new.
- I remember the norm as a lot more extreme than the pic in your link. Some of those 'do’s were enormous.
Take off the ice skates. The Worm turned but will soon be back underground where worms belong.
What can I say. I am a veritable font of hate.
Yeah, I’m good with coming in in the middle of the back on this one.
I did surprisingly well considering I totally whiffed on the first two. I did consider American Idol, but thought, “No, a lot of people must like that show”. And I almost put the Dallas Cowboys but I was more in a college football frame of mind because of the game yesterday. I can’t believe I didn’t even think of the Yankees; I blame it on a lack of sleep.
Okay, but why is it called a “conch?”
See Post #66.
sigh
I guess I’m more of a lover than a hater. Or I just hate all the wrong things.
