# The Daily Feud: Words and Names by RickJay \[Game Over\]

Q’s on word usage and spelling, misc stuff

**DO NOT READ THIS THREAD BEFORE YOU POST YOUR ANSWERS**

**Object of the game: Try to think of the most popular answer,** to get the most people matching you. Google is allowed, if you desire. Only answers that are “serious” will be scored. Joke answers will not be considered, as it is not fair to other players.

Scoring - Any answer duplicated by anyone else is worth 100 points divided by the number of entrants. For example: 50 entrant game = 2 pts per answer. If 4 people match that means they each get 8 pts for that answer. No matches = 0 points.

_ **FORMATTING OF ANSWERS IS IMPORTANT!** _

**Write your answers like this** ; Do not repeat the questions, no periods at the end of answers, no spaces between lines, no comments, no fancy list coding.[/color] And no quotes, please. If you need to comment or clarify your answers, do it AFTER the list of answers. Thanks.  
JUST LIKE THIS:

The game will end either when we have 50 entrants, or at **3:00 PM Central** on Friday, 01/23/09 whichever comes first.

Good luck!

1. Name a word that is frequently typed incorrectly in Internet usage.
2. Name a different word that is frequently misspelled, on or off the Internet.
3. Besides nuke-yoo-lar, name a word that that you think is often mispronounced, whether or not it is an accepted regional difference. (Sounds wrong to your ears.)
4. Name a homophone (two words that sound the same but have different meanings.)
5. Name a synonym for hot.
6. Name two English words meaning the same thing that are different in the United States and United Kingdom, such as “Apartment/flat.” (Don’t use the example!)
7. Name a non-English word or phrase that is used in English because English has no exact synonym. (\*Please \*look up the spelling for me!)
8. Name a city in the Americas that is named after a city in Europe.
9. Name a movie star that has the same (first or last) name as a place.
10. Name an English word that is frequently used in a way that demostrates the user doesn’t know the word’s correct definition.
