waaaaahhhh! ☹ I miss cable.

I liked the Daily Show with Craig Kilborn and I once I got used to the change, I LOVED Jon Stewart.

Hey, if you don’t have cable, you can find tons (TONS, I tell you) of video clips [here](http://www.comedycentral.com/timewasters/dl_general.jhtml?show=ds).

Yay, Daily Show! I loves me some Stephen Colbert…he’s so dreamy.

I believe Mo went to Puerto Rico looking for me. I particularly liked the stuffed animal version of myself.

I think it is fantastic that I can watch a show where they interview Ashton Kutcher and Madeleine Albright in the same week and I can be entertained and learn from both interviews. I also have found TDS to be pretty fair. I found that they have been equally harsh with Saddam and GWB, and they were as hard on Clinton as they are on the shrub.

One of my favorite quotes…“This was sponsored by a group calling themselves the Sons of Confederate Veterans who, you do the math, could not possibly be that.”

A friend of mine was on the show one time. His dad takes part in the great american past time of cow racing and they did a bit on him. I’m sure it was a proud family moment.

This has been mentioned quite a few times, but for some of my friends, the Daily Show was their primary source of news (along with our campus newspaper, which has a whopping 2 pages on national and world events).

Jon Stewart is a powerful man.

Another thing I like about the show is it’s the only place on teevee you can get good old-fashioned Jewish humor, of the Borscht Belt variety.

I also love Stephen Colbert, but my personal favorite is Steve Carrell–I especially liked their “Even Steven” segment.

Steve took a break a few months ago, but he’s returned for a few shows. He hasn’t done too much reporting, other than the “Ad Nausem” and “Produce Pete” bits (which I find inconsistent in their humor).

However, he did report “from” Baghdad the day of Saddam’s deadline. When Jon complimented him on his bravery for staying in Iraq, Steve acted completely surprised to learn that the deadline was that evening. After Jon explained how many bombs would soon be rocking the capital, Steve bitterly commented “Hm, it would have been nice if somebody had told me…” Throughout the rest of the report, the camera would cut to Steve at a different stage of leaving Iraq: packing his suitcase, waiting for a flight at the airport, on board the plane–all while continuing his report as normal.

Steve’s “We Love Showbiz” segments with Nancy Walls (who’s married to Steve in real life) were also very funny.

I am a complete Stephen Colbert fangirl. A couple months ago, I got to see “Wigfield” which was performed and written by Stephen, Amy Sedaris, and Paul Dinello. PLUS I got them to autograph my book. Mr. Colbert told me he liked my John Lennon pin which said “Imagine Peace” then he tapped it. I almost passed out!
Stephen Colbert was the one who did the bit on the Iraqi trading cards. He got through saying Abdul Hassan Terraq Assiz or something four times. But later on in the skit, he stumbled on the word “urn.” Jon Stewart pointed it out afterwards and then started cracking up saying “I think he just flipped me the bird.” Comedy gold people!
Anderson Cooper was pretty damn funny last week. He even made Jon bust up laughing.
Also last week “Holy Shit we’re marching to war! Hide your money in your mattress!”

Back in Black is on every Wednesday – he was recently doing a stand-up tour, so he was away from the shoiw during that time. He’s back (ha ha!) now. My husband and I were lucky enough to go to his Minneapolis performance, which he was recording for his next CD. It ROCKED.

There have been so many hilarious moments on that show. One of my all-time favorites was when Stephen Colbert was interviewing a scientist whose lab was working to re-create (on a MUCH smaller scale, of course) the Big Bang.
Stephen: “So what are you hoping to get out of this?”
Scientist: “Well, we’re going to understamd the creation of the Universe itself.”
Stephen: (looking unimpressed) "OK. What else?

A bit from Lewis Black deploring the fact that Miss Universe had been stripped of her crown, and now the second-most beautiful woman in the Universe got to wear it. “And God forbid they have to drag out the _third_ most beautiful woman in the Universe… by her HOOVES!” I about died laughing over that.

Others have mentioned the bit where they poked fun of Bush’s mangling the “Fool me once…” saying. My favorite part of that was them cutting to a Special Report from Rob Corddray in Iraq, which turned out to just be Rob asking them to run the clip of Bush again.

My favorite moment goes back some time, to the CK years. Kilborn introduces a live segment from a reporter somewhere where a hurricane was coming ashore. They cut to the reportrer up to his neck in water, with waves knocking him down, and the reporter says “Craig, I might have underestimated the strength of this storm…”

What a shame that Steven Colbert (any relation to Claudette, I wonder?) is doing those lousy, crappy TV commercials. Oh, well, he’s gotta eat, too, I guess.

I like Lewis Black too. I forgot to list a line of his earlier, but I was cracking up when he was talking about the hot dog eating championship and said, “How many pigs must sacrifice their lips and their testicles for one man’s glory!”

Another moment from the Miss Piggy interview (paraphrased from memory):

Piggy: You have such amazing eyes.
Jon: Yeah … and they move!

One of my favorites is the take-off they did on “School House Rock” about Mid-term elections. Classic!

“You haven’t been listenin’ to a Goddamn thing I’ve said!”

Plus, Jon’s wardrobe is awsome!
