This Daily Show episode was the one bright spot in this otherwise dismal evening full of creeping dread and eldritch terrors. Goddamn, I love me some Jon Stewart.

What was everyone’s favorite segment? I loved the bit about the dangers of voting.

I liked the curtain-licking guy, too, but I felt kinda down. Everyone was obviously a little melancholy, especially Jon, as it looked like we didn’t do the job. Gah - 11 more days…

I liked the opening segment, explaining what happened to the former Daily Show staffers.

But yeah, it ended on a downer. I suppose they shouldn’t do it live, so they can avoid depressing themselves and the studio audience.

I was exit polling the Covenant aliens.

Beautiful.

My favorite part was the Weld and Sharpton interview. I would want to have Sharpton as president, but he makes a great talk show guest. Weld also seemed to be having a good time and made a couple of good quips.

</div>

The double interview was the best. It was good to see a republican who does not come off as clueless or self important. It was nice to see Al Sharpton and him trade barbs with out hate and vitriol.

I was disappointed. The various election results seemed to be bringing both Jon and the audience down, especially when he talked about the results of the various anti-gay-marriage initiatives.

Yeah, I usually don’t care too much for Sharpton, but he was great last night.

I like how Jon wrapped it up [paraphrasing]:

Jon said something along the lines of “this reminds me of a nightmere I woke up crying from earlier.”

I hope he and the show are up for work for the next four years.

The funniest single joke was probably Rob Corddry playing Halo, followed by the motorcycles.

I liked (paraphrased):

“We’ll return to you later for more results.”
“No need, Jon.”

That and William Weld.

“creeping dread and eldritch terrors”?

Sounds like a lovecraft story, and it wasn’t nearly that interesting. No cyclopeon cities or Cthulu apocolypses at all.

Just a choice between \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* and \*\*\* \*\*\*\*\*. And \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* won.

Samatha Bee and the exit poling had me in stiches, when she was outside the strip club I just lost it.

What was the flourescent motorcycle couriers joke? How’d I miss that? Was the show one hour or two?

I second Samantha Bee and her exit polling. I usually don’t find her funny, but she was great last night.

“Excuse me sir, what is your full name and what did you buy at the porn store today?” 😃

Yep, I was weeping.

Also, when she asked the one man if she could see his penis.

During an explanation of the electronic voting systems.

“Well where’s the accountability? How do you know if the counts are accurate?”
“You’d have to take that up with The Men.”
“What men?”
"I didn’t want to get into this, since it’s technical. The little men who live inside the machines, and carry the votes to the server.
\<cut to a shot of the Lightcycles from _Tron_\>
“They’re fast, nonpartisan, and unbiased. And they’re fluorescent.”

That was my favorite segment, too, but I didn’t see the whole show. We were switching between that, CNN, PBS, and occasionally Fox News (which in its way was even funnier).

I liked the report from terrorist headquarters by (was it Ed Helms?):

“And so I was blindfolded and taken by car to an undisclosed location.”
Jon: “I think I see the Marriot East Hotel in Times Square behind you.”
“It did seem like a short car ride.”

“Judging from the ululating, John Kerry has just won Massachussets.”

Ed Helms was at the Reagan Center. Not sure who was covering the terrorists, but he was great.

My favorite part was Weld and Sharpton, both extremely funny. My respect for Al Sharpton went way up (from “none” to “some”).

The other moment that stuck in my mind was Jon’s monologue reporting on the Senate Races. On Obama winning, and Keyes coming in with less than 30% of the vote, Jon said " was really hoping for a shutout." And his longish rant on Bunning, listing all of the wacky stuff that Bunning did… and then concluding with “…that guy won.”

A bright interlude in an otherwise dark night.

'Twas Steve Carell! Long thought lost to Hollywood! I hope we’ll be seeing more of him.

Well, TDS will either put out another four years of hilarious biting satire, or Jon will collapse behind his desk and cry every night. I give each even odds.
