Speaking of PETA, they have a new commerical out. It has the child actor from “7th heaven” (The young guy… I don’t remember his name) saying, “If you would like to prevent school violence, tell your teacher that you want to stop animal testing.”
WTF?!?!? Just how is school violence related to animal testing?

I used to work in a cat food plant.
The “wet” food was primarily cow, or pig lungs and livers and occasionally other organ meats; and/or “poultry mix” (no feces, beaks, claws, or feathers allowed); and/or whole fish (of the tuna variety). Other stuff added were things like peas and carrots, gaur gum, titanium dioxide, vitamins. I never saw any mysterious meats or parts trucked in through the back door.
The “dry” food was mostly corn or other grain with added vitamins, bone meal and food coloring. A cat wouldn’t eat the stuff so fat was sprayed on the stuff to make it palatable. I’m assuming this sprayed on fat is what is causing the concern. I don’t know where it came from (other than the truck), but it was probably mostly farm animal or waste fat deemed not edible for human consumption. I suppose an occasional cat or dog might show up at the plant and get tossed in but that wasn’t where I worked.
