IIRC, they eventually started using elaborate mathemagic to find the year 1917, which you’d maybe _think_ would’ve been a failed but kind of impressive prediction about war being waged on some heretofore unseen scale – a “World War,” if you will – as a sign of impending armageddon _lo that very year_; but, since that obviously didn’t happen, the interpretation is instead that 1917 was the year when someone who’ll live to _see_ that looming apocalypse was prophetically fated to get born. So they won’t need to revise that one until the last person born in 1917 dies. ---
