Whew! **Swampy** is located. It’s a nice 77° here in the outback of South Arkansas. Kinda cloudy though. Me and the Grandwrex were gonna do a project today. I’m glad I didn’t tell them ahead of time. I’m not feeling it, today. Mr.Wrekker pulled something in his back picking up 50lb bags of Dog food. The Doctor called him in 2 prescriptions. I was surprised he called. He usually just powers through injuries. It must hurt bad for him to call a Doctor. He’s kicked back in the recliner. Which is odd, to me, as well. He said the Doctor wants a scan if he’s not alot better by Friday. I keep telling him he’s a old man. He needs to slow down. My cat’s are perturbed because I’m caught up on laundry. Amazingly. Mid-daughter is making pizza crust. We love her pizza. We’ll do a chopped salad to accompany the pizza. Y’all have a good afternoon. {{{ **FCD** }}} ---

Home, and exhausted. MIL called and seemed miffed that I hadn’t called the hospital. I figure they would contact me if needed, and otherwise, I don’t need to interrupt them. Anyway, \*\*FCD \*\*called a little after that and we talked a bit. He’s in pain _(DUH)_ and not impressed with the recovery/ICU area, but they’ve got a room for him and with luck, he’ll be moved soon. He said he was turning off his phone so he wouldn’t be disturbed, and he asked me to call his mom and brother. I spoke to his mother, and asked her to call BIL (I don’t like to talk to him, and I don’t think I have his number anyway.) So she’ll take care of that. Then I got the internet back on at home - daughter didn’t do a proper modem restart, but the tech did it remotely, and it’s all good. So yay. I’ve got a bunch of hosta and iris and one other plant to get in the ground - that’s for tomorrow. Today, I just plant to put sheets on my bed and order supper from Domino’s. I think I’m just a wee bit stressed. ---

Yaaaay and WHEW! **Swampy’s** back! I can dial down the nervous nellies now. Hope you continue to improve as the day progresses. Hope OYKW doesn’t get it. I had a COVID dream last night. I was flying to Chicago to be with the fam, but the airport didn’t look like either O’Hare or Midway. Turned out I had a tight layover in Travers City, Michigan, where I switched airlines, only they couldn’t find me in the computer system. Finally a kindly ticket rep took my arm to guide me at a gallop to my gate. The shortcut she used went outside, where there was a bunch of armed yayhoos protesting the lockdown, and I lost her in the crowd. I was trying to simultaneously figure out where I was going, tell the yayhoos to take their ignorance and go home, and calm them down so they wouldn’t shoot me. Then sweet consciousness saved me. **Beck** , I hope Mr. Wrekk is OK. Can’t you throw a load of towels in the dryer for the kitties? A perturbed Meezer is a sad thing. **cookie** , I’m fond of Heath bars, too. Dentists’ Delight, I call 'em, which is why I avoid 'em. I’m impressed with your willpower in canceling the order. **MetalMouse** , I can’t do sudoku, and though I love Cheerios, I don’t stay full. We let Salsa’s make supper. So quick and easy - I called in the order, they said “It’s #115.” When I arrived, they asked my number, I told them, I got my food, paid, and came home. Their serving of pollo fiesta is huge! I had enough for supper, plus lots left over for lunch tomorrow. Roxy’s Arroz con Pollo was enough for 4 meals for her! Anyway, happy tummies all around. I put fresh sheets on the bed. I plan to hibernate early tonight. I’s tahred! ---

Glad you’re feeling better **swampy**. I missed you. WTG on the showerhead **shoe**! Whilst doing household chores yesterday afternoon, I threw out my back and right hip. By bedtime, I needed my hiking stick just to go to the loo and out to the stoop so Nelson could take a whiz before bed. It got bad enough that I texted a heads up to his local godmother, just in case. I stayed home today and applied rest, heat, drugs and light yoga stretches. It’s getting a little better and I think I’ll be able to walk from my car to my desk (1/4 mile) tomorrow to go to irk. I foresee a day when I’m using the heat pack there though. Getting old isn’t for sissies. Stay healthy y’all! ---

Kitchen is clean, watching classic hockey on TV. The showerhead works GREAT y’all. I had it set to Hi-Power to wash the shampoo out of my hair, and went to go rinse out my undercarriage while I was at it. I _jumped_ it was actually too strong for the down-there bits, which is a problem I am more than happy to have, considering the unimpressive native water pressure. (The showerhead has a few settings; the lower one is fine for an undercarriage rinse, if anyone was worried.) But enough about that. I came to say … well, I don’t know if this is quite the right spot, but I need to put it SOMEwhere … at work today, I helped get something off a high shelf for a shorter lady. She thanked me nicely and we chatted a moment and she brushed my arm briefly - swatted me playfully, really - as we spoke. She caught herself right away, apologizing for touching me with a mortified expression on her face, and I assured her it was fine. Which it was. I was on my way to the potty anyway when she’d stopped me to ask for help, and when I got in, and shut the door … I suddenly burst out sobbing. Cried so hard I either forgot to pee or just dried out from the other end. I didn’t even understand why for a moment - which is disconcerting as all hell, lemme tell ya - until I realized it was simply the first human touch I’d had in weeks. Just that little brush of her fingertips. And I absolutely _lost_ it over that. I am a huge introvert; this quarantine lockdown has been basically a Tuesday for me. Working essential retail means interacting with a LOT of goddamn people, and most evenings I am “peopled out” by the time I get home anyway. But I knew I was kinda jonesing for a hug by now. I just didn’t realize I was _that_ bloody starved for what my old I.T Guy and I called “skin time,” though. Anyway, it was a helluva moment, and I just needed to tell someone it happened, for some reason. I said my goodbyes to some of my coworkers when I left and we jokingly did an air-hug (like an air-kiss, you know) and it was all I could do not to 'fess up and beg for a real one. C’mere, cat. You’ll do. (Plus, the purr is a nice bonus feature. I wish people could purr.) ---

Evening all. Finally did something constructive cleaning and mopped the kitchen floor. Still need to clean the countertop, but that can be tomorrow’s job (along with getting the garbage can out). Hope the bad back people get too feeling better. **nellie** , just looked up Travers City Airport, it only has six gates, so not a long run. So much for sleeping in. I woke around 3:30 (thanks, stoopit bladder) and it was apparent that sleep wouldn’t return immediately, so I got my tablet and did a little surfing and playing. Then I heard Higgs yapping a bit, which she hasn’t done in ages (well, at night, anyway) followed shortly thereafter by a critter scratching at my door. So I gave up and got up. I think it was Ziva trying to get into my room, because Taz will jump up on the handle and try to open it. When I let Higgs out of her crate, she bolted around, then went out in the yard. I gave the cats their morning treats, fed Higgs, then fed myself. It’s a tad chilly, and I went to get a sweater - Higgs followed me and jumped up on the bed - I think she was looking for **FCD**. He’ll be pleased to hear that. But they’re all settled down now and I’m breakfasting. No more sleep for me. Dammit. 😛 But it’s supposed to be a nice afternoon. I’m going to make an early run to Food Lion and the Amish market, then I’ll wrangle the kidlet till it warms up a bit. She can play while I plant. I hope I can get everything in the ground today. And I hope \*\*FCD \*\*calls with some more specific news. Onward! Happy Thursday!! ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 88 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Looks like normal weather is here to stay. I attempted to post a few times yestiddy, but kept gettin’ timed out so I gave up. I did a whole lot of nothin’ all day. Today, well, pretty much the same, but some tasks need to be accomplished. For one thing, the pantry has gotten somewhat unruly again. I think sup shall be majik intartoobz pizza and sallit. I made ham 'n cheese omelets for sup last night along with grits and toast for the first real solid meal I’ve eaten since Sunday, really. **MOOOOOOM** awwwwwwwww… Higgs misses her daddy! **Shoe** congrats on the shower head! Also, sounds like a pretty good day at the last day of old irk. I am somewhat of an introvert myself, but I do like hugs, so I understand your reaction. **{{{red}}}** , very gently, of course. Afternoon, mumpers! It’s another sunny day over here, perfect for staying at home and doing irk. I’ve got plenty to keep me busy so no chance of getting bored. Shopping expedition was undertaken yesterday evening, I am pleased to report it was relatively successful too. The store we use is quite small for a supermarket but the bonus is that it’s usually quiet and the queues are short. I managed to get pretty much everything on my list although I did see that again they had no flour, yeast or eggs, and although pasta is back on the shelves, there was very little rice. No problem for me, we get aigs from the corner shop, I don’t need flour or yeast, and I have some rice at home. I did get a large smoked gammon joint which is sitting in the fridge ready for roasting on Saturday, we are not short of potatoes so I am thinking I’ll do a full roast dinner for a change.
