Yeah, I have to side with Muffin on this one - I just don’t happen to know any dishonest Deans, Masters or Heads of Faculties, which is why this fellow pisses me off so.

I knew a dean once who was kind of dickish and authoritarian, but none of the dozen or so were dishonest.
This is my experience. I’ve known a number of deans since I’ve been teaching, and while some of them are incompetent, some of them are assholes, and some of them are annoying dictatorial micro-managers (or a combination thereof), I haven’t worked with any who’ve turned out to be dishonest.
