_The Atlantic_ is the one magazine I subscribe to — it’s excellent (though I liked it better when it was less political).

I just received my October issue today. How does this compare with others and newsstands? (I’m curious what delay there is getting my copy here in a reclaimed Asian jungle. 🙂 )

I’m in Korea. I can get US print editions a week or two late if I go to a large nearby city. There’s a bit of a mark-up, so I usually get digital editions through Zinio.

I’ve had the _ **November** _ issue (Mona Lisa cover, delivered by mail, suburbs of Boston) for at least 2 weeks, probably longer.

> wow I’m surpised the wizard lasted that long after the comic book crash …

I remember Wizard mainly as a geek pop culture magazine that towards the 2000’s heavily was promoting the various TV and movie adaptions of comics.

> The same thing is happening with newspapers too. Our local paper used to be four sections daily, then three, now two. I can go through the Sunday paper in about 15 minutes these days, and about half of that is trying to figure out where they hid the comics (which used to have their own section, now are down to about two and a half pages and tucked into the back of some other section).

Which is why I got into collecting older papers from EBay through my nephew-- much older than now, as a matter of fact. One of the best of those is, as I pointed out in another thread (“Stuff worse than it used to be,” I believe is the name), that 1987 Baltimore Sun from the 150th anniversary of that Baltimore paper (Sunday, May 17, 1987). Why? Simple-- 300+ pages of news, sports, weather, entertainment, classifieds (employment and otherwise), the national Parade mag, the local Sun Mag, a TV guide; you name it, it had it. If this board allowed for pictures, I’d show you what it looked like.
