If you’re in or going to Atlanta and love pizza, try The Mellow Mushroom. Best. Pizza. EVER!
In the Northwest Chicago Suburbs - Mama Capri’s on Rand Road in Palatine. Just trust me.
Sunspace or any other Toronto Dopers, are there better places than Amato’s here?
In Saratoga Springs, the best pizza is at Bruno’s. Great all-around restaurant.
For take-out, we finally got a decent place – Caputo’s Pizzeria, in the Home Depot Plaza.
The best delivery pizza in London is from Planet Pizza. I’ve no number to hand but there’s one on Bartholemew Street off New Kent Road and another on Salmon Lane off the Commercial Road (A13).
When in the French Quarter of New Orlenans, stop by Mama Rosa’s at 616 N. Rampart (directly across from Armstrong Park). Let the pizza cool off a bit first or you’ll end up with cheese in your lap!
When in the DC area, you can be assured of good pizza from just about anywhere. Armand’s and Bartucci’s are the standouts. For variety in your toppings, stop by one of the Joe’s locations or The Lost Dog Café. Joe’s used to have a great white pizza with crab, clams & shrimp. As for the Lost Dog, visit during the week or for lunch. It’s absolutely packed on Friday & Saturday nights.
In Alexandria, VA, it would be Generous George’s.
In Baltimore, MD, my favorite is Cafe Isis/Al Pacino Cafe. Mmm, SOOOO good. They have things like tandoori chicken pizza and crab pizza and salmon pizza with salmon roe.
One of my favorite pizzas is the “Seafood Pizza” from Deany’s in New Orleans.
Here in Topeka we have mostly chain pizzas, and national chains at that. But there is one local chain that has the best pizza around, and that is Glory Days. I like the occasional anchovy pizza, and GD will do it without the clerks making snarky remarks like"Ewww!" when I order it or pick it up. Plus they are generous with the cheese, and the seasonings in the sauce are tasty!
Sven and Ole’s in Grand Marais, Minnesota on the north shore of Lake Superior near the Canadian border. Worth the trip.

The Flatbread Pizza Co. in Amesbury, MA. Heavenly organic pizza cooked in a clay dome oven.
For regular pizza, you can’t go wrong with The Regina. Plus they have sassy waitresses:)
Best I ever had was in D.C. It’s called Pizzaria Paradiso and it’s near DuPont Circle.
It is very thin, extermely well-flavored, and has actual chunks of tomato on it. Very tasty.
If you’re in Wilmington, N.C., the only place I can say is a definate is Slice of Life Pizza. It’s just a little bar where they cook up the pizzas only a few feet away, but they are delicious.
In St. Louis, Imo’s Thin Crust. Just enough crust to convey the toppings to your mouth. Elicia’s is good too.
When in Murray, KY, be sure to visit Pagliai’s, the best pizza place in a four-state area. Kickass thin crust pizza, and it’s pretty fast.
Anyone know where I can get a good thin crust pepperoni in Lexington? I haven’t found a good place yet.
If you ever find yourself in Jesolo in Italy (hey, we’re trying to be comprehensive here) Da Tseo’s pizza is the best I’ve ever had.
Waterfront Pizza, Port Townsend Washington. Best pizza on the planet
My observations:
-DOMINO’s: this crap tastes like tomato paste on cardboard. Somehow, they have managed to find a totally tasteless cheese! My advice: eat the box, throw the pizza away!
-PAPA GINO’s: truly terrible-but the cheese actually tastes OK. The crust is usually thick and doughy-nasty, metallic-tasting tomato sauce.
-ATHENS PIZZA (Waltham, Ma): thick crust, saturated with olive oil!-bleech!
What really puzzles me…there are many fine pizza shops around…but how do the bad ones stay in business? Of course, this doesn’t explain the abomination which is DOMINOS!
In Richmond, VA, Bottoms Up pizza is downtown. Awesome pizza with tons of choices.
In Chesterfield, Gino’s gets my vote, and Sergios is up there too.
For an expensive fine dining style pizza, check out Botega Bistro-Great pizza, but the blackened tuna is better
Absolutely not. No way. Best pizza on earth.
