Of course, the time of fighting against monarchists has long passed, but the name lingers on as a proud legacy of those days. If we’re going to be rational about it, why does the NEWER of the two major parties get to call itself the G.O.P.? ---

Of course arguing over whether a name makes \*literal \*sense is irrational. I don’t expect Fox News to report on foxes. However, the main point of my argument remains: Consistently refusing to refer to a person or an organization by their real name is a dickish thing to do. It may be a minor dickish thing to do in the grand scheme of Republican dickishness, but it’s still dickish. ---

It’s regrettable that you were forced to spend so much time here. When we finally achieve our democrat ideal, no matter which party oversees true democrat principles in this, the greatest of all center-right nations\*, it’ll be nirvana, I tells ya. \*It’s interesting that the people who spend time bleating about how we are a “center-right” nation have the utmost contempt for those at the center.
