Yeah, my life journey has happened to expose me to both sides of this coin: I was raised in a family of Vietnam War protesters (some of them Quakers), missed out on Woodstock as a fetus (my mother didn’t want to risk another miscarriage), and worshipped our neighbor Pete Seeger; yet, a few years ago, I taught a course at the Command Army General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, and those soldiers were the best students I’ll ever be privileged to teach. So, I both deeply feel this mistrust of the US military adventurism and understand its place in what leftist geographers call “The Colonial Present,” AND I know when it’s time to quietly listen to and respect the men and women in uniform and their civilian leaders (and to recognize the present security realities and the good things our armed services do). ---

Bloomberg is a great surrogate, because Trump seems terrified of anyone richer than he is. He’s never responded to Mark Cuban’s criticism, and I bet he doesn’t respond to Bloomberg’s. ---
