They still would piss off the establishment, which means less chance at other important positions in cabinets and similar.

Which only matters if Clinton wins. If she decides to participate in more debates, then the DNC just surrenders. They are not going to punish all the candidates.

How many debates do they need? Is there a reason to have debates more often than every three weeks?
