Actually, it strikes me that it would, by neccessity, be something long and complex, since if it were short and simple, some babbling child, some nonsense speaking adult, some animal, etc…would have stumbled across it by accident early on and the world would never get far enough for it to be called the Deplorable Word.

I, for one, wouldn’t use it either. I disagree with MC here. I believe humanity is as brutish and infantile as it’s always been, that it may even be degenerating. Still, there are those few wonderful, worthwhile people that are enough of an exception to provide some (guarded) hope. It’s because of them that I wouldn’t “Undo”.

I can’t remember where I first saw the idea expressed (Spider Robinson maybe?) but I don’t think absolute power could corrupt absolutely. Power itself corrupts because it generates the desire for more power. With absolute power, the circle is complete and there is nothing left with which to be tempted.

At least I friggin hope that’s the way it works, since accumulation of absolute power is my life’s goal…
