"Then they brought before Jesus a woman taken in adultery, and demanded that He judge her according to the Law of Moses. “And He said, ‘I don’t care what you do, as long as you dress seemly for Synagogue.’ And sent her on her way.” Would any Mississippi state Dopers be willing to make an excursion up to Pascagoula with a squirrel trap? I think we may have a use for one here in this thread. ---

What on earth kind of church do you GO to? Nothing sleevelss? Theres this thing called summer. Lots of sleeveless tops are sold. And worn. You can’t help but have open-pit(ha!) Are you some kind of nut? 😛 ---

Hey I’m sure there were plenty of belly buttons on display at the wedding in Canaan. It was the middle east after all. And I didn’t here Jesus complaining 😃 . C’mon, weddings are religious celebrations but they’re also partys. And celebration of love and sex and fucundity and good stuff like that. So I don’t think it’s that inappropraite. Of course if people are dressing like that at funerals that’s a little weird. despite the link between sex and death… ---

**moriah** , why do you hate God’s work? Someone is displaying themselves and taking joy in showing what God has given them with his own hand; standing before God in his own house and proudly showing how grateful they are… …and instead of being happy at seeing such a fine image of God’s own likeness you are angry and feel they should be _ashamed_ of what He has given them?! :dubious: Perhaps you should talk to a priest about the anger you seem to have against God’s creations. ---

I think there was a bit of a point amidst the name-calling and hyperbole, at least in that one shouldn’t expose most or all of those fleshy regions at the same time while in a place of worship. (I don’t have an issue with one at a time, maybe two, though belly-exposing shirts are tacky just about anywhere IMO.) However, I think that perhaps more churches should simply enforce a dress/modesty code. ---

How many times do I have to say this: I’m not **angry** at any one, I simply hate all. Time and place for everything.
