Thanks, all. I called him, and he’s accepted his fate. He said his son is taking very good care of him, and he doesn’t regret one day of his nearly 80 years. Still sad. ---

I know that I can’t expect an optometrist to have appointments met to the second - things happen and delays creep in. But when the Dr still hasn’t called for me 30 minutes past my appointment time, wouldn’t you think \*someone \*would give me an update?? I finally got to see her 35 minutes after my scheduled time. No apology, no explanation. Then when I went to order my new specs, the optician was being trained on new software, so that dragged things out even longer. Last year, they just filled out some paperwork, took a few measurements, and you’d be out of there in no time. Not today… :rolleyes: Poor Higgs was stuck in the house over 11 hours, but she didn’t pee or poo inside, so there’s that. She’s been fed and she’s out in the yard now, and I’m eating some pasta. Long day… Day after tomorrow, my sweetie get on the train. He’s so ready to be back home. Dealing with his folks has been really stressful, especially seeing how much his dad has declined. And his mother insists she can still drive, but \*\*FCD \*\*thought otherwise when she took the wheel for a little while on their way back to FL. Her doggone opthamologist gave her to OK to keep her license, damn him! As long is it’s bright, sunny daylight, she’s good. But night, rain, or even overcast, and she has a hard time seeing. She should not be on the road. I hope I remember this when I get too old to drive safely. Happy Wednesday anyway. _\_ ---

I worked at da Hood store. I came home. I’m off tomorrow so I’m having gin and tonics(my malaria’s flaring up again. ;)) {{{{rosie}}}} Yay, **sari**! Home from Evening Prayer over to the church house. Our Priest Associate was in charge tonight. She likes to shake it up a bit which is good. She also has almost six month old twin sons who are not identical. **doggio** ain’t that the truth! Now if only I could get rid of a couple other problem chilluns. Of course that means I find more who will turn into problem chilluns, right? Ok, da bear is tahrd. Ima go lie upon the bed and watch teevee until sleepy time. Nitey Nite Y’all! ---

Well, DH seems to be enjoying his electrician school so far, and my job is going fine. Still not enjoying the long commute and the totally messed-up transit schedule, but that’s life. Would be nice to get rid of the lingering cough, especially since the crud I’m coughing up tastes like liquefied salt. ---

{{{ **rosie** }}} Go, **sari**! I never ended up getting a job yesterday so I spent half the day applying for jobs and the other half shopping for a small catering job that showed up out of the blue. (RT says when I needed something it showed up just in time.) 🙂 Last night I ended up getting a job for today. I’m going to be an art teacher at an elementary school so that should be interesting. So, I’m just sitting here eating breakfast and waiting for time to leave. ---

**Sticky** , a day of fingerpainting sounds pretty heavenly to me–have fun with it! 🙂 **Doggio** –we had a beagle friend who howled at absolutely _everything_. We’re lucky he didn’t manage to teach Winchester that (although he did teach him how best to distract a little girl so as to steal her hot dog). Last night we packed the seldom-used kitchen stuff. Because I’m fairly confident we can go six months or so without a quesadilla maker. 🙂 Tonight, we move on to the dreaded closets, I think. ---
