Late blurf. Got woken up this morning by some guys doing some work on the neighbour’s house, halfway up the scaffolding loudly singing ‘Spiderman, spidermaaan…’ I think they’re very silly people. Went to the local pub quiz last night with my housemate- came joint 4th, despite both of us being utterly awful on pop culture. Would have done better, but she talked me out of 2 points… That’s the first time we’ve not been second to last (which gets the losers prize). Ps, waiting for fishtanks to mature is boooring. ---

So, some kind of bad news. A few weeks ago I noticed that Evil Fat Scarlett was getting considerably less fat. She’s a 12 year old pewter colored DSH. (Trying to link pictures now. But will later for sure) Our new vet does house calls exclusively, which I heartily recommend as there’s so much less stress on the animal. Anyway we talked about how it could be this or that. Generally Scarlett has been feeling better, more active and somehow even less evil lately so I was not too worried, thinking “thyroid” Well, Doc called last night. It’s her kidneys starting to go. I’ve been through cats and kidneys before and have yet to see a happy ending. I know, lifespan can be stretched out but in the end it’s just maintenance, not really anything that can be fixed. She’s my spoon mate at night, curled up in the crook of my arm. Guess who is going to be the Most Spoiled Cat for a while, even moving Cuervo to the side if she wants? ☹ ---

That is what my cat Rita (Aka Little Kitty, Aka Fat Cat) died from. She was a scrawny shelter cat when we got her, my mom nursed her back to health, she got really round and chubby when she was an adult, probably had some metabolic damage from her shelter illnesses. So I wonder if obesity caused kidney damage in cats? ---

Afternoon all. Been a sucky week. My BP was 206/118 so I took a break from everything to get it back down. Found a place I can afford, it’s still in Maryland but it’s in Montgomery County. I don’t know why it’s so cheap, $886 for a 2 bedroom condo. I waiting to hear back as to whether or not I can have a dog and I asked the SO to check out the neighborhood since he lives in the area. My friend in Roanoke is looking for a place, he says it’s very inexpensive living there. Anyway {{{hugs}}} and congrats to those in need. Thanks for all the laughs, I sure need them. ---

I have some bacterial gunk used by grocery stores to cycle lobster tanks. I’ve never used it. Some folks use ground up spiders for similar results. 🙂 ---
