If I’m ever pissed at popular music being used to sell a product, it’s just because advertisers usually miss the point entirely! For example, when The Guess Who’s song American Woman (although I believe they played the Lenny Kravitz version) was used for a Tommy jeans commercial. The song is about American cultural imperialism! This is not a celebration of attractive, expensive-jeans-wearing 'Mercan chicks! Sheesh.
or when they use How Soon is Now for an automobile commercial…geesh
then again its been done to death by everyone else so why not?
Adult undergarments: “These are Depends, my friend…”
Breakfast cereal: “Mr. two scoops of rasins… It’s got two scoops of Rasins… RASINS, RASINS!”
