Given that smoking tobacco is only barely tolerated these days, I don’t see why smoking marijuana would/should receive any laxer treatment. Especially since the general consensus is that marijuana smoke is much more noxious than cigarette smoke.
Lack of research showing that second-hand marijuana smoke is harmful, compared to lots of research showing that second-hand tobacco smoke is?

Seriously though, all sorts of things smell bad in our society. Fat people on the subway on a hot summer afternoon. Fresh mulch on my neighbor’s lawn. The woman next to me in the elevator who is wearing too much perfume. Indian restaurants. People who have recently eaten at Indian restaurants. The home of anyone who keeps a dog or a cat as an indoor pet. Do you want to make all of those things illegal too?

I don’t smoke pot, I was trying to raise awareness for my campaign to ban fat people, perfume, mulch, cats, dogs and Indian food.

I actually like the smell of pot. Always have.
My neighbors like to partake of the wacky weed out on their back patio on a nice evening. I admit to sitting on my own patio just to enjoy the occasional waft over the fence.
I will grant you, though, that if they were right in front of me toking away, I’d probably want them to stop.
The cure is worse than the disease!
