# the draft?

Insurance, is the short ansewer

Simply it gives the government a census on military aged men, upon which to base contingency plans on.

Just because they have no plans now , does not mean they dont have a plan in place should congress authorize it.

According to that link, Undocumented (illegal) aliens are required to register. Does this actually happen? Perhaps I’m not as clear on the idea of an illegal alien as I thought.
