For a 40-year old, Brady played a spectacular game. But, to me, the right team won. This was a great game for the NFL. Nick had been the underdog in every playoff game. He earned his stripes yesterday like a man among men. ---

A three and out means the the offense was especially bad and/or the defense was especially good because one side got the ball and did nothing with it. Unless your team makes an especially good special teams effort with that punt, you’ve just hurt your team’s chances to win and probably gave the opposing offense favorable field position when they get the ball back. Having to punt after you get one or more first downs isn’t the same at all, it means you made some kind of offensive progress and that kind of punt doesn’t have nearly the pejorative meaning that a three and out does. It’s a really important distinction. ---

There was a 3 and out that led to the only punt - after the Pats missed the field goal in the 2nd quarter, the Eagles got the ball at their own 20, Ajayi ran for 2 yards on 1st down, then 2 incomplete passes, and a punt. ---

The celebratory idiocy wasn’t limited to Philadelphia. Apparently some Eagles fans in Austin decided that this was a good occasion to [vandalize the iconic Stevie Ray Vaughan statue](http://www.statesman.com/news/breaking-news/stevie-ray-vaughan-statue-vandalized-after-eagles-super-bowl-win/vk0l9n7V9IZDUD56iFF7cM/). I officially now hope that the City of Philadelphia never wins another championship ever again. Seriously, the SRV statue? ---
