**StickyBuns** bake cookies and tell them they can’t have any. I am obsessed with cookies today. Obviously my body is tellin’ me it has a severe cookie deficiency. ---

Getting windy here. My butterfly bush looks sad ☹ The pampas grass I don’t worry so much, I think it can survive anything. It’s almost flat. It feels cold out. I opened the door for sah-pup and Brrrrrr! He said he didn’t want to go out but then decided maybe he should. Good thing since he just had a big bowl of left over eggs and pancakes. If I had some cookies I’d share, but I don’t. ☹ ---

**Herbs** I think if you substitute bourbon for the lemon you’ll feel better a lot quicker. Congrats **Haze** I think I should take a nap. Not much else to do. Well actually there is a lot to do, laundry needs to be put away. I could bake a cake, my mattress needs flipping (actually needs replacing but today is not the day to be driving around with a mattress strapped to the roof). ---

I just popped an apple crisp into the oven. And the moral of the story is: if you’re doing something that requires pastry cutter, get a bigger bowl than you think you need. Otherwise, you’ll make a mess on the floor. 😃 It’s windy like crazy here and it’s raining, tho not to torrential a downpour. I’m glad I’m indoors. ---

Oh. My. God. I knew today would be no fun, because I got nothing done on Friday. The reason I got nothing done on Friday was because half our team was out - either home sick or busy rolling out new phones to the entire company. So, I spent the entire day on taking “stuff is broke” calls. which is fine. Except for the part where today, SEVEN NEW EMPLOYEES STARTED. And I’m supposed to have their computers all ready to roll out. Except, I don’t get to tell anyone “build the damn computer!” because I’m the newbie. So I have to wait patiently and very gently inquire as to the status of the computer. And then I get to take all the status requests from people who want their computers. Also, my head has exploded because one manager wants the computer for his new hire, except he stated that his new hire is getting the old computer leftover when another guy gets a new computer. That new computer is sitting on my desk, waiting to be delivered. One of the other managers is off site. He keeps trying to get around us and basically get free computers by asking for loaners and never ordering computers. Then he gets mad at us because our only loaners are laptops, and he wants a desktop. He finally ordered necessary computers, but they haven’t arrived in time, so now he’s asking for a loaner. No biggie if he were onsite, but he’s not. So, the guy who goes offsite to fix stuff is headed out to set up a temporary computer for him. And this guy calls back with a whole “but I wanted a _desktop_.” If it weren’t for my extraordinarily cool coworkers and awesome boss, I’d go crazy. Okay, crazier. ---

Newest casualty to Sandy: my travel plans. First leg cancelled 36 hours ahead of time, so I’m re-booked to leave Thursday evening. A small miracle is that it’s a confirmed flight instead of standby. :grumble: ---

My sister is stuck here on this coast and is pretty upset she can’t go home. Home is Newport News, VA. She flew out here two weeks ago to be with my Dad, but she misses her husband and dogs. Hope you all ride out the storm with a no damage, and little to no power outages. I just read that **ITD’s** power is out on FB. Hope she and her family can stay warm. ---

So…all the cookie talk had me digging out this box of gluten-free cookie mix. It’s leftover from when MrTao’s oldest had occasional periods of severe ‘allergy to something, we don’t know what, so restrict him from everythiing’. So I’m making those. Whilst I was looking for the cookie sheet, I found…a box of dry baby formula powder. Now, MrTao’s ex had a baby about a year ago, and we did indeed watch her several times. But this is from 2008, and as it’d been 13 years since her last kid, I’m not thinking she’d been hanging onto it all this time and just brought it over for us in case LittleGirl got hungry. And it was on top of our stuff in the cupboard, not buried way in the back where the previous tenants may have left it. So…we have missing forks, and now way-out-of-date baby formula. I’m trying to guess where this is going, but I’m at a loss right now. Maybe eating cookies will give me inspiration; in the meantime, I’mma gonna eat cookie dough. \<3 ---

It looks like Long Island is going to get [a lot of rain and wind,](http://weather.newsday.com/US/NY/Islip.html) but no hurricanes. Our first anniversary is tomorrow. We managed to be off Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We went to the zoo this afternoon, something we both enjoy very much. I’ll make orange chicken tonight. A dozen roses arrive tomorrow. 🙂 ---
