Yeah, that sounds really self-centered. I’m ecpecting MadSam to come in here and complain about it any minute now… 🙂 Seriously, I am nearing 5,000 posts. I would like to think a couple of them may have meant something to someone here. Maybe I made you laugh and you remember this. Maybe I made you furious with me. Maybe I made you realize what a schmuck I am. Maybe I eradicated some ignorance. Maybe I showed how overwhelming mine was. Maybe I touched a nerve, maybe I simply touched you. Maybe I helped you rethink a Great Debate. Given how much you wanted me to included in my sig line, “I slept with Satan!” the fact that your initial reaction to my being made a moderator was “And _I_ slept with him!” still amuses the hell out of me. But that may be more feeding my own ego than yours. ---

Well, you and I have had a lot of exchanges, on more than a couple of boards, and dinner in at least two states, and I’ve come to value your friendship highly. You’ve had a number of sage comments, some awesome flames delivered to people who deserved them, and some good jokes. But bottom line, on a day I was feeling a bit down, I opened a thread where I’d stuck my neck out on some subject or other, and saw a post from you that: [li]Intelligently disagreed with one of my points without flaming me[/li][li]Said you agreed with what I had to say (except for the minor point[/li][li]And said “and I want to be just like you when I grow up”[/li] And I had a hard time keeping the silly grin off my face for the rest of the day. That’s my most memorable post – by you or anybody else. And I hope to someday live up to having friends like you. ---

Satan- This would be one that nobody’s mentioned yet, I believe, but it’s near and dear to my heart, since it was the second thread that I posted to in my SDMB career. (The first one was Scylla’s groundhog thread, so sue me). I had the immense pleasure of laughing my ass off at your story and the stories of others, and posting my own response in the debate those stories ignited. I then had the pleasure of watching my post be ignored completely by everybody, and by you saying the same thing a few posts later. Hey, no hard feelings, though, I felt special. 😃 Anyway, here it is, and it will always have a special place in my heart. Well Satan, I have been lurking and reading the posts for months. I have gotten an appreciation for your style, you can disagree without getting obnoxious and you are always ready with information to supplement your statements. I can’t pick out a post that stands out more than the others more than your “Baby talk” response to Drain Bead after she had the bad day and cut herself.
