I Hate election time. I Hate those damn commercials that point fingers and slam other candidates without one ounce of proof to whatever they are claiming. I would much rather hear the “Be a DJ for a day! DJ for a Day! Yea! DJ for a Day!” commercial (THREE times in a row\*), then hear about what Dick Dedolburg voted for in congress. \*Evidentially, the local broadcasting school only made a 10 second ad for a 30 second slot, so has to run the thing three times to fill the time. ---

Now if I can just get them to take down all those ugly campaign signs that are littering the landscape pretty much everywhere. (Don’t they have a deadline when those are to be removed by?) ---

We had to put up with not only the nasty NY commercials, but the NJ and CT ones as well; NJ were worse even than ours. Damn tri-state media markets. I also expect to get many fewer random calls from Bill Clinton and Al Pacino. ---

An unexpected side benefit of not watching much TV. Although on “Heroes” Monday night, we were subjected to a huge number of political ads. Only one of which was actually positive. (That candidate lost, unfortunately.) ---

Also no more sleazy campaign mailings. The worst was the last-minute sliming sent out on behalf of Pat (“I’m apparently embarassed by my ethnic heritage, so I pronounce my name TEA-berry”) Tiberi, our unfortunately re-elected Republican incumbent Congressman: "OMIGOD! MY OPPONENT ONCE VOTED IN FAVOR OF **EXPERIMENTATION** ON **LIVE FETUSES!!!** What a jerk. ---

**CoG888** _says_ he is against stupid campaign commercials but let’s see what kind of commercials he _likes_ to see: • **CoG888** has been known to watch cheap guitar infomercials hosted by alleged guitartist Esteban. • **CoG888** has been known to send away for Oxy-Clean™ - that miracle product advertised endlessly by Billy Mays. • **CoG888** is disappointed with the demise of the “Head-On™ Apply Directly to the Forehead” commercial. Is _this_ the kind of person we want pitting campaign commercials? * * * **CoG888** - it was all said in jest. I HATE those commercials too. ---

That’s one of the problems with DVR – we tape all our shows and watch them whenever we get to them, generally days later. Meaning we’ve got a good week or two of campaign ads left (well, at least the tail end of them, after fast-forwarding). ---

I’m glad I won’t be getting more election-related phone calls. The sleazeballs even got my fucking cell phone number somehow, so I got to hear all those motherfucking recorded messages twice- on my home phone, and on my cell. ---

As one who listens to bitcasts from a St. Louis radio station, I’m glad I don’t have to hear any more “prop 2 will allow human cloning!” ads from the religious right. ---

Interestingly, the AARP continued to run its campaign commercials well into CNN’s election night coverage-- after all of the polls had closed. ---
