OK, that was different. Every once in a while, I help my best friend video a wedding when he needs a second camera and his son is off doing another wedding. Saturday, the groom was a Marine in full dress uniform, and the formal photos were in a local fort, _which he had the keys to_. A quick look at the photos and video made my friend remark “I think we found the cover for the case…” ---

Hello, all. I am waiting for kitty pictures to arrive in my inbox, so I can put them on the intarwebz and link to them from here. For the time being, you’ll have to make do with reading about insane kitty cuteness. Both kitties are girls, sisters, and about 14 weeks old. They’ve had their first round of shots. I will be responsible for further shots and spaying. They will be indoor kitties, and they will keep their claws. Kitty overlord #1 is the tortoiseshell. She says meep every now and then and gallops places that interest her. She shows a particular affection for the keyboard and quickly learned that launching herself onto my lap with claws extended gets her extremely fast service. It took a little while for her name to show up. The first few I tried just didn’t take. Then, while she and her sister supervised me in the bathroom, Soot attached itself to her and expanded into Hatshepsut. She’ll be Soot informally and an Egyptian pharoah when she gets in trouble. Kitty overlord #2 is quieter and less frolicsome than her sister, but far more deadly. I picked up several toys for the two of them. When kitty #2 found the cat teaser/bird thingie, she attacked with instant ferocity. In less than twenty minutes, she had the entire thing killed, dismembered, and dragged under the bed for later consumption. So, I determined that I did not have a kitty, I have a house panther (Domesticus panthera). Therefore, she is now Miss Bagheera, house panther. Pictures when they come through. ---

Two of the inlaws’ three suitcases are now in the car. In about 12 hours, we’ll be on the road to the airport. I’ll be glad to have my house back. 😉 ---

It seems I’m having an impromptu Kevin Kline marathon. I watched the Wild Wild West movie (catching a lot of the awkward moments that I missed before) and now I’m watching the 1983 movie of Pirates of Penzance. I suppose I should find a third too. ---

Amazingly enough, my inner tubes keep on working through storms. The amazing part is we used to lose service pretty much every time the fire house next to us opened the door. Backhoes, however…it’s not impervious to those. Need to wake up in four hours to take someone to the scareport. An extra box of blurfs has been ordered. Not sure how they will be delivered as we’ll be on the road before the newspaper comes. ---

Another vote for \*Dave \*- I love that movie, even tho it’s sappy and predictable. Good morning, fellow babies!!! 😃 \*\*FCD \*\*has gone to work and I’m having an early breakfast. In about an hour, I need to wake the inlaws, and shortly after 8, we head north. It’s been 2 weeks of too much togetherness, to the point that I learned things I really didn’t need to know - like how entrenched some ethnic prejudices are with some people. It’s not even like it’s a subtle undertone that one might explain with “Well, that’s the era when they grew up…” More like “Seriously? You really think every _\_ thinks/does/says that???” :eek: And this is coming from someone who grew up with Archie Bunker’s role model for a grandfather. What’s sadder still is I think my MIL especially considers it to be a true and valid way of understanding people. I just want to scream every time she makes a blanket statement about any group… but peace in the family - she’s 81 and she’ll never change. ☹ Anyway, in 4 hours or so, they’ll be at BWI and I’ll be on my way home to a quiet, empty house. Yay! I’ll have the rest of the day to get things in order and prepare myself for work tomorrow. What do I wear on the first day? Note to \*\*swampy \*\*- do \*not \*suggest tube top and thong or I shall have to hurt you! 😛 Temps are hovering in the mid-80s all week - I’ll probably do black jeans and one of my new tops. I should get a haircut - I look pretty raggedy. I also need to get together the stuff to decorate my new cubicle - my ceramic “tape holder” is first on the list. And somewhere there’s a folder with the comics and stuff I had hung on my cube walls, including a headline from the Florida Times-Union that reads “Michelle Pounds Cuba” - when [Hurricane Michelle](http://www.cubahurricanes.org/history-hurricane-michelle.php) hit back in 2001. We’ll see what else I can scare up. Can’t believe this is my last day of retirement for the time being. Of course, I could be unemployed after the election if certain contracts are cut way back. Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of _only_ 84. Why it’ll be positively frigid out! There appears to be a serious amount of rain on the way. We ended up with a bunch of rain early yestiddy evenin’ into the night. There’s all kinds of green and red stuff to the west, so we shall see. **MOOOOOOM** of course I would not recommend a tube top or thong for office wear. How uncouth! Everyone knows a midriff top with spaghetti straps, stretch capri pants and stack heels are considered appropriate for the office. 😛 Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. At least it’s only a four day irk week. Happy Tuesday Y’all!
