Every once in a while, I’ll flip through the radio stations and find my favorite radio personality- Open Forum host Harold Camping. I love listening to him because it’s only a few minutes before he says something crazy. Last night, after only 3 minutes of listening, he was debating with a caller on whether Judgment Day was a 24-hour period or if it took a while. The best line was when he goes “The first day of Judgment will occur on May 21, 2011…we know that.” and the caller goes “Of course…[go on]” :eek: Then a few callers later, he’s saying how making a crucifix is bad because it’s an idol but also that you can’t have a 2d picture of an infinite God. Contradiction? Not for this guy. And every time I listen, he’s saying how you need to read the bible for yourself and not listen to what your preacher/priest/pastor is telling you. I can’t help but think he doesn’t realize the irony of a radio preacher saying you should read for yourself. 😕 ---

" Why would anyone need to explain why the date of the flood does not line up with Ussher’s calculations? Your own site link for his calendar does this for you. “The first page of Genesis was annotated with Ussher’s date of Creation, 4004 BC, though in reality, Ussher’s Annales is estimated to have relied on the Bible for only ONE SIXTH of its volume.” Ussher used the Bible 1/6th of the time for his calculations? That explaination RIGHT THERE! Ussher DID NOT trust the Bible, in MANY areas. His calculations are WRONG, by a long shot. Using the Bible for 100% of your calculations, the creation was 11013BC, and the Flood was 4990BC (that is if you (unlike Ussher) fully TRUST the Bible. May 21, 2011 is 7,000 years from the flood of Noah, TO THE VERY DAY! And is Christ’s return and Judgment Day. Use the Bible (not Ussher) if you want Truth. ---

Sillies. According to a book I read 25 years ago, the world ended on May 5 in 2000 and it involved lawnmowers falling from the sky. I warned my co-workers to catch the lawnmowers, because after the apocalypse you need a trim lawn. Of course no mowers materialized, though a few days later Los Alamos (A bomb birthplace) burned. ---

I would like to know whose May date it is, since there are many time zones, someone’s world will end before ours! I guess it will give the people in Hawaii a few hours longer than in Europe? Not fair to the people in the earlier time zones is it…heck… they will have no time to repent or convert!! ---

I understood the whole deal was to set an example to human beings, who need to rest at least one day each week. ---
