Are people glad that Arizona won or that NYY lost?
And Arizona, what the fuck? All these “fans” going crazy for an expansion team that’s only four years old…great tradition of excellence there in AZ. Bought and paid for.

And your fucking point is??? The Yankees now hold the record for the highest-priced WS Loser.
And these ‘fans’, who shouldn’t have ‘’ around the name, have been rooting for this since before the ballpark was built. They have a team of their own and they love it.
Oh, maybe this is the ‘start’ of a ‘tradition’ of ‘excellence’!

I sort of felt the same way, they being the first genuinely free-agent-driven World Champion ever.
But you have to admit that there were a lot of guys on that team who have played fine baseball for a long, long time who hadn’t won the World Series. You may not like the Diamondbacks winning it (and they sure deserved it the way they played) but it’s nice to see Curt Schilling, Randy Johnson, Mark Grace, Steve Finley, Matt Williams et al. win it.
I would have preferred the new champion be Seattle or Houston, but Arizona played magnificently and pulled out a miracle win. It was a great Series, they outplayed the Yankees by a mile, and they deserved to be World Champions.
