The Ethics of Gambling

Very true. And who is to say that the government shouldn’t have lottories? If you had seen the condition of the roads in Mississippi change from the pre-casino era and the post-casino era, you can see that taxes on the casinos can definitely go right back to the people who spend there money there. And there is nothing wrong with taking the money from a person who shouldn’t be spending there money in a casino/bar/bank if they do so voluntarily. Picture this: a poor man wants to buy a lotto ticket and knows the numbers he wants to use. The person at the counter doesn’t sell the ticket to the man because they feel that he could better spend it. The next day, the poor man finds out that his numbers were picked. Unlikely, yes, but definitely possible. And if that poor man does have a job where he makes a small amount of money, he should have the right to spend it in any legal manner that he pleases.
