I would think part of the problem here that is going to get the FAA bent out of shape is that this isn’t just a stunt. Its a stunt that was put out there as an incident/near miss.
Its one thing to do a stunt and go “hey, look at this cool stunt…don’t try this at home we are professionals…”.
Its a whole nuther thing to go “man, looks at this close call by crazy pilot and stupid ground dwellers…just kidding!”.
There is no win in this discussion. I asked you for some information because I was interested in your input. I gave my opinion based on what I saw. It’s a court of public opinion. I suspect this maneuver didn’t go as planned because professional aerobatic pilots are not a bunch of barnstorming jackasses. They’re a very disciplined group. They have to be to survive.
