**Keith** , I’m sorry about your car. That bites; I hope your insurance covers some of it or something. Hit and run drivers are the scum of the Earth, they really are. That being said, I’m sorry everyone’s jumping on you. As someone who is amongst the ranks of the ever-so-slightly horizontally gifted, I wasn’t offended. I think that lately there’s been a trend on this board towards being less tolerant of people while they’re ranting. Personally, I think it bites. I’m always afraid of offending _someone_ now every time that I post, and I’m just about as PC as they come. C’est la vie. ---

The lady who ran into the OP has a life-threatening condition that is the result of unaddressed issues going on for a long time. To me, this shows that her character is such that she’ll just let shit happen without being proactive and taking care of things. So, she runs into the OP’s car. Instead of doing the responsible thing and taking care of the problem she just goes on down the road and tries to ignore it. I know that people have different metabolisms and that some people have glandular disorders or whatever, but the fact that the woman is morbidly obese shows that she’s not taking care of whatever particular problem she has. The fact that she may have a medical condition doesn’t excuse her; she needs to take care of the medical condition. Please explain the flaw in my reasoning. I’m really curious why you think this is all nonsense. ---

I’d believe that **Keith Berry** was just venting and being descriptive about his assailant were it not for the gem about the “equally fat” woman in the passenger seat who was presumably the driver’s daughter. She had nothing to do with the accident, she was not in any way responsible, there was no reason to mention her **except** to make a dig about her fatness. That’s when the rant went from acceptable angry anecdote about the culmination of a string of bad car experiences to an excuse for making snotty remarks about fat people for their (the remarks) own sake. ---

You also cannot know whether or not they are currently under a physician’s care, or what their situation is. I was merely saying that the fact that the OP pointed out that the driver who hit him was morbidly obese does actually pertain to the main point in the OP and is not just a gratuitous aside. The fact that the lady is morbidly obese (coupled with the fact that the lady doesn’t have a license plate) is evidence that the lady is not the most conscientious person in the world. If you can’t see the difference between the above sentence and the sentence “I think all fat people will run off after hitting a car,” then you are beyond my ability to help you. And look, I’m the first to admit that I could also lose a few pounds. I wouldn’t consider myself fat by any stretch of the imagination, but I’m definitely not athletic by any means. And look, I’m sitting here posting to a goddamn message board when I should be working, so . . . ---

We are talking about things a thousand times worse, if those victims are lucky. To equate the two in any way is absurd, and insulting to the memories of those murdered, beaten or systematically oppressed. While the “fat crack” was not needed. I found your post infinitely more offensive then the OP’s. I suggest a healthy dose of the History Channel International and the Mathew Sheppard story if you still think these two things are **remotely** equal. Hurt feelings? When you say “she is fat so she’s not conscientious” and you’re using that as a reason for the hit and run, you are essentially saying that all fat people aren’t conscientious and will hit and run. I seriously hope you’re just yanking our chains and that you don’t really believe what you’re saying. She’s a scumbag, but _not because she’s fat_.
