> That said, I admit I can’t think of an actual example. But I can’t think of counter examples either. The show was cancelled fairly long ago. I do remember the two Supreme Court cases being left in limbo.

Episode 2x17 “There’s Fire”. Alan represents a woman who lost her job because she was a smoker. He loses.

And of course who could forget 1x17 “Death Be Not Proud”? Alan takes on the Texas High Court to appeal a death sentence and ends up watching the execution.

I don’t remember specifics but Alan also lost in “Breast in Show.” And if not for Denny’s timely intervention, Alan would have been shot in “Hired Guns”.

Alan took his share of losses over the years. Denny is the one who claims to have never lost a case.

He defended an ex girlfriend against a murder charge and she ended up copping a plea to manslaughter.

> The show is only tangentially about the law. You’re just going to have to roll with it or stop watching. It gets more absurd as it goes along. Almost nothing happens as it would in real life, but it really isn’t a plot driven show.

It isn’t the lack of 100% law focus that is my concern; the subject is irrelevant, it’s how the characters act. They are not even close to realistic, even for a farce.

And absurd, yes, I grant ye, but absurd by itself is not funny, art perhaps, but effective drama and humor, not necessarily.

And of course I have to roll with it or stop watching; of course I have no magic powers to go back in time and change the scripts and refilm everything. But criticism is still valid, even after production of a work ceases.

Of course it is. I simply meant that there is even more of what you don’t like coming; the legal inaccuracies and bizarre behaviors get more inaccurate and more bizarre.

> Whoa, wait, you’re not supposed to date clients?!?

Do these ivory tower professional societies have any idea what the effect of this rule is? Do they have any idea how rude we look when we get done having sex with a client and then have to tell her we can’t take her out to dinner?
