# The Fed's and their income tax forms!

For the first time in a while we’re able to file early, right now in fact, but the US government and all their stupid things, their 1040’s are not ready for release??

Anyone filed yet without a filing service??

The IRS is kind of distracted at the moment. They’re scrambling to implement the 2018 tax rejiggering and are just now releasing [2018 tax withholding guidance](https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/updated-2018-withholding-tables-now-available-taxpayers-could-see-paycheck-changes-by-february). That’s the hair-on-fire emergency they have to deal with now, so getting the 2017 filing period under way is probably the next panic they have to deal with. And they’re under-budgeted, under-staffed, and have no confirmed Commissioner (only an “Acting” Commissioner).

This is going to be a turbulent tax season.
