I’d have done better if I realized that in the US you typically will not find beer in a dorm room, but will in a convenience store!

Because the format was as constrained as it was, I think answers using different words (as opposed to variant spellings - tyre/tire) should have been counted separately. Anyway I benefited from it, so I’m not kicking too hard.

In America, that’s the main point of a convenience store. Beer and cigarettes probably make up half their sales.

In my dorm room you would’ve. At least, it made my list. Everyone else must just be better at hiding it.

For the record – the non-beer thing is probably less about the fact that I don’t drink and more about the fact that I live in a state with 19th-century liquor laws, where convenience stores don’t sell beer.
