Sorry to threadjack and nitpick about things but the way the question was worded referred to the entire conflict and not just the war against Germany. (That’s my interpretation anyway.) Taking both theaters of conflict into consideration, I chose the US due its role in defeating Japan. The USSR did not declare war on Japan until very late and did little when compared with the US.
