**Excel 05 -\> Excel 07 Translation** 1. Give the columns headings (Items, Doper). 2. I copied the list and repeated it, making a list of 20, and gave the new 10 your name, just to make this work better. I also changed Dolores’ “a pirate” to “a ninja”. 3. Highlight the two columns. 4. Go to “Data” in the toolbar, click “PivotTable and PivotChart Report…” 5. Go to “Insert” in the toolbar, click “PivotTable”. 6. Click “Next”, “Next”, “Layout”. 7. Click and drag “Items” over to the “ROW” section. 8. Click and drag “Doper” over to the “DATA” section (should now read “Count of Doper”). 9. Click “OK” and then “Finish”. **BECOMES:** 1. Not as intuitive as before, but I guess Microsoft knows best… You should now have a list that looks like this: Row Labels Count of doper a ninja 1 a pirate 1 Abe Vigoda 2 big rig truck 2 dead hookers 2 elephants 2 Empire State Building 2 gold dubloons 2 Sadness 2 The Astrodome 2 The Pyramids at Giza 2 (blank) Grand Total 20 ---
