Maybe because I’ve lived all those years, and many years before 1975. Someone born in the 80’s will only remember the past 10 or 15 years. Something that happened before they were born is perceived differently than something they have a memory of. 1800 **doesn’t** seem like a long time ago for me, because I didn’t exist for almost 150 years after that. Maybe Stephen Hawking could explain it. Or maybe I’m just old and confused. ---
