Okay, I’m going to do terribly at this. 1. Michael Crawford 2. Bebe Neuwith 3. Hairspray 4. Mama Mia 5. Chicago 6. Wicked 7. The Sound of Music 8. The Lion King 9. Tommy 10. Xanadu 11. Went back and forth between Hairspray and Grease, but wasn’t Grease a musical first, then a movie? I guess that doesn’t matter if people answer Grease and Grease popped into my head first. Toughie. 12. I know exactly ONE Tony nominee this year, only because I have a total thing about Xanadu and just recently read an article about the musical. ---

Xanadu #2 Hey, it didn’t have to be a musical star, and I don’t know many contemporary female performers. Dang #7 One of my favorite movies. I haven’t ever seen it on stage. William Daniels IS John Adams! #10 The only reason I know ANY nominee this year is because last Friday I was babysitting my nephews, and read a copy of their “Entertainment” magazine, and there was a mention of this show. (Full disclosure: I paid to see Xanadu in the theater TWICE when it came out – back when seeing a movie twice was a big thing (at least for me, as a kid in a family without a lot of disposable income), and you had to do so in the theater because VCRs weren’t really common yet. But I was a 14-year-old girl, their target demographic! I know better now . . .) ---
