I guess I thought Bonds would be fresh in people’s minds due to his ongoing trial. That and my love for concession stand pretzels killed me. ---

I will now say that I don’t think Rickey was actually all that fast; he was fast, but mainly he had ungodly timing and an amazing ability to read the pitcher’s move. ---

That was my thinking on my answer, as well, though I thought, when I put the questions together, that we’d get more votes than we did for Brooks (as well as Bonds or Hank Aaron for HR hitter, and maybe Trevor Hoffman or Rollie Fingers for relief pitcher). ---

It could have been worse; I was considering Roger Maris for the home run question. He is, after all, known primarily (exclusively) for his homer-hitting. Admittedly it couldn’t have been _much_ worse. ---
